1. Objectives - Metrics - Perspectives
Objectives
-Important to have structure becuase it will give us control, measure and feedback re: our objectives.
-Having meetings is great example of structure
- Want to have a common family goal in mind.
Metrics
-money spent on bad foods
-calories
-weight loss (ie two lbs a week is a good measure)
-exercise
-health
-cravings
Perspectives
-The Kids - good to think about them in a weak moment.
-want to feel fueled and commited, not guilt
-Sustainable lifestyle that give us life with our kids. We can make mistakes without it breaking the system
-Relationship - not just about "me" and it's about being intimate too.
2. Strengths & Weaknesses of Patterns of Behaviour
Strengths:
-eat healthy at Mom's
-Brian won't eat over healthy crap
-strongly motivated and supported
-strongly motivated because we are unhealthy and limited by energy
-success is best revenge
-motivated by appearance (K)
-Access to resources (cooking classes, books, farms)
Weaknesses
-quality of food
-portions
-wheat addiction
-K - likes the taste of crap
-susceptible to impulse/habit
-ability to exercise control
-hormones & chemistry
-time is a problem
-cooking repertoire is weak
3. Instances of Types of Behaviours that Need Modification
-nice to have a breakfast routine
-buying less sugar & throwing out what we've got
-new purchasing process (GGateway & premade meals)
4. Barriers to Change
Example: The Reason "Weakness X" is a barrier to a healthy lifestyle is because "Barrier Y"
- lack of cohesion/all on the same pages/working against each other at times (ie. K wants one thing and b wants another and there's no common goal)
Weakness - portion & Barrier - effective decision making
Weakness - wheat addiction & Barrier limited choices in food
Weakness - quality of food & Barrier ineffective in foods we eat/lack of decision making
Weakness - like the taste of bad foods & B - lack of a capacity to decide what food to make
Weakness - hormones & chemistry & B - unconscious physical response
Weakness - cooking repertoire is weak & B - resources are wewak for learning
Weakness - accomodating different preferences & B- undermines our psychology negative impact & duplicate efforts
